Tom Trotter, 28

Tom Trotter, 28 from Greenwich, was suffering severe digestive problems. He suspected that potatoes, cereals, milk or yoghurts might be causing his bloating, and in extreme cases, vomiting.

A long term genetic illness meant that Tom was wheelchair bound and, without the ability to fully engage in physical exercise, relied on his diet to keep his health balanced – something which seemed impossible when he could not identify the exact causes of the sickness.

After taking a test from YorkTest, Tom discovered he was experiencing reactions to wheat, gluten, barley and dairy which confirmed his suspicions.

After reviewing his diet with his personal trainer, Tom understood which foods he needed to cut out of his diet and what alternatives were available to optimise his nutrition.

Taking this advice on board, Tom saw some fantastic results:

"I feel more relaxed and I’ve got more energy. I lost 2 and a half stone in 6 weeks and I can’t attend a gym like a normal person so the dietary aspect is more important to me for controlling my weight.  I’ve had a drastic re-education and I eat more than I ever did but now I eat the correct foods, I don’t have takeaways and I’m cooking from scratch. I eat 4-5 meals per day now."

Going forward, Tom is pleased to be experiencing a great enhancement to his quality of life:

"My day to day life has improved. I don’t suffer tiredness as much as I did and so can enjoy life on a daily basis more. I can go and meet friends or go to the cinema and it doesn’t take as much out of me. It impacts everything."
